I beat Starcraft 2 recently. Its the third game I beat this year behind Super Mario Brother 2 and Plants VS Zombies. Starcraft 2 is one of those games that I will be playing off an on for quite some time. Blizzard added achievements and generally speaking, I don't care about them in most games. The achievements in Starcraft 2 are something I actually care about getting. I started at the first map and replayed it to get an achievement I missed. It was fun to see them all get filled in for that mission. 25 more to go I guess.
There are a few missions where you can choose one path or the other. I wonder how the game plays out if you chose something else. I plan on going back over the single player to see the other paths as well as increase the difficulty level. I played through on normal and only lost a few times. I am going to try things on hard, see if thats more of a challenge. It was fun to absolutely decimate the enemy, but its nice to actually have to come up with a new strategy because the other side is good.
I got the Starcraft 2 collectors edition instead of a digital download OR the plain box game. Ive really enjoyed the soundtrack and the other stuff it came with. After I beat the game I watched the making of DVD and was pretty impressed with the effort that went into making the game so amazing. It also came with a comic book that was OK. I was lost at times trying to figure out what was going on. The art book was really cool. I wanted a few posters of some of the art in the book and if is available I may just do that. All in all if Blizzard releases Collectors editions for the later Starcraft 2 releases, I will pick them up without hesitation. I guess I am one of the few people that like having a physical product to hold and experience. Then again, I still buy CDs for much the same reason.
